This museum is the best example how syro malabar christians treats their historic monuments. We few people visited here as part of the study about Indian Church history. The museum was closed. No one responsible was there. A phone number was displayed there and we called to that number. It was the number of verger and he was at his home.

The Synod of Diamper, held at Udayamperoor, was a diocesan synod or council that laid down rules and regulations for the ancient Saint Thomas Christians of the Malabar Coast, formally uniting them with the Catholic Church.

Synodal museum is an ancient museum in udyamperoor which deals with historical remains of udyamperoor synod which was a important synod for christians in Kerala.
The synodal church is easily visible from the ernakulam - Kottayam state highway. The museum is now preserved by udyamperoor church. And it is pretty good place to visit once in a while.

A lot of history lying behind these walls. Archives related to the development of society in Kerala with regards to Christian community as well as Artefacts makes this church very cum museum crucial as far as history is concerned. However since it's origin, It's not been taken care of properly. This is open only on request.
