1857 Uprising of Sepoy-es so called Sepoy Mutiny took place from this Star Fort, Jhansi, on 4th June 1857 at about 20.00 hours IST when the huge group of Sepoyes Blasted southern contour and took over Brithish Star Fort. Thereafter on 6th June 1857 main fort of Jhansi fell On 11th June 1857 Union Jack was down and Rani Laxmibai hoisted Her flag. After her death in Gwalior on 17/18 June 1858 Jhansi State was ceded to Scindia's in 1861. until 1886 when British swapped territory by handing over Fort of Gwalior and Morar Cantonment .In lieu of Jhansi Fort and Town. Today Star Fort is hiding many stories of Sacrifice and valour.A real monument of 1857 Uprising.

Great place for history lovers. It is a star shaped fort built by the British. Start forts are rare in India. Opens only on 4th and 5th June, every year.
No tickets required, but do carry an ID proof because the fort is situated in the cantonment area.
