I have to say, if you have not visited Fatehpur Sikri, you're missing out on a Mughal architectural marvel. The beautiful thing that it is, it is a sight to behold.

I won't go into details of the architectural wonder it is, but don't miss this.

However, a caution. This place is over-run with touts and apparent guides and students masquerading as guides throughout the structure. They have folks who will hound you, every step of the way. One guy leaves, another guy joins. Our Taxi operator shared that it was a loot scheme, as they would entice you in with low guide rates and then use coercion and other techniques to force money out of you.

The biggest issue with Fatehpur Sikri are these people. The place is brilliant.

Please note, the parking to structure journey has to be done by a bus, which is at a walk from the parking. As of January '22, the rates are Rs. 20 per person. There would be a collection of Rs. 10 per person on the Agra Development Authority tax (which can be easily done via UPI, NO CASH!)

Nice experience. Always book a tour guide else you'll end up seeing some old buildings and you'll not get full satisfaction in your tour.
Plan B: If anyone else has booked a guide, do follow them and stand a little far from them. 😄

There is everything amazing about this place, especially the architecture. One can just imagine how great it was to be a king of whole of India. Please visit here with a guide they help your imagination of how king spent his days in here it really gives you goosebumps. Place is very neat and clean, there can be some issues with parking. Aged people can have little difficulty as it is a very big place to roam. Do visit with your family and praise its beauty.

if you want to know about history take guide.....it can be interesting. But think and negotiate to let him give you time for taking pictures and just enjoy rather than making it a school trip with a teacher as guide. We told the guide to leave early after he finished telling his story then we spent 2hrs taking pictures.

Amazing architecture. I better recommend take a guide with you for better explanation. Because it is very big we will get confusion. Architecture is really amazing. Can't describe about this in words.

The fort city built by Akbar to honour his guru Selim Chisti. Made out of red sandstone on the top of a small mountain is an engineering marvel and a sight to behold. Taking a guide is a must and one must bargain. We took a guide named Abdul Kalam, an aged person, very knowledgeable and a perfect gentleman. He took us through all the places and the architecture. It was a truly great experience.

A cool place to visit if you know the history, there are no plaques describing each part of the fort.. So unless you have a guide, you're just seeing empty buildings. Need to be extremely wary of guides there, they aren't transparent and swindle you in every possible way. Ideal would be to take a half day package with guide

Nice place. If you like architecture then you should visit this place. Many buildings are inspired from old Hindu and Jain building architecture. The only thing missing is the place for eating near the surroundings.
