Dheeran Chinnamalai Gounder Statue

Dheeran Chinnamalai (17 April 1756 – 31 July 1805) was a Tamil chieftain and Palayakkarar of Kongu Nadu who fought against the British East India Company.

Great Freedom Fighter from Kongu Region. He was hanged by British in Sankagiri Hills.

Dheeran Chinnamalai Born on April 17, 1756 at Melapalayam near Chennimalai, Theerthagiri alias Chinnamalai joined as a soldier in a dynasty at Kongunadu and formed a group of warriors to oppose the British.
Three major combats were reported in 1801, 1802 and 1804 and he won the three and created fear among the British Government

This place can be used as landmark when you are referring to Guindy bus stop. Guindy stop is a wide area and it would be difficult to locate with that. Marking yourself with the location of the statue, it would be easy for identification.

I visited this place. There is a statue of freedom fighter dheeran chinnamalai.

This statue is on the road and visible. Mostly moderate crowd.

First person who fight against british east indian company and that's later called as first step towards our freedom fight. He was even in the period of kattabomman , and his bravery towards the freedom and his powerful moment makes british to fear for their life.
