An ancient fort situated at Davanahalli, Bangalore. No ticket charge.
Very sad to see that the fort is not maintained properly by the authorities and visitors.
You can visit this place if you are passing through that route and have free time to relax. Otherwise, it is not worth to visit this place.

Historical place, easy accessible from city. Forte wall collapsed in some areas. From the Forte nice view of the lake. The place is clean. Nice place to visit with friends and family. Aged people climbing steps may be difficult. When you visit historic places going back in their time and memories. That time architecture and the war strategy etc come to our mind.

Devanahalli Fort The first thing I would say is that you should not rely on Google Maps to respond to this location. To reach this place, you have to go through the market, which is very congested and not comfortable to go through in a car. Also, regarding the location, it's not that attractive; here you won't be able to see many things. If you don't have any option but to go anywhere, you can come here. Also, for parking, you won't get much space. This fort only has walls and is not maintained properly. All the walls are about to break.

The fort is well maintained, especially the entrance. It is nice to be able to climb up via stairs just inside the fort and walk some distance on the wall. An interesting feature was the row of narrow tubular "windows"(see photo) along the walls that gave views of the area surrounding the fort from different angles (to shoot from?).The temples inside the fort are quite small. Between the modern concrete houses inside the fort and a smelly lake and highway outside the fort, the view is nothing special. It's a place of historical significance, and an easy drive from the city and worth a trip.

The fort only have walls. Rest have been ruined. Archeology department abandoned this place. Not well maintained. The fort wall width is unimaginable. It was near about 30 feet with 3 layers. Great engineering. The wall have a watch towers, hide out, archery range. Sad that it has ruined, not maintained and encroached by people.

You can walk on the fort, the journey from Bangalore to Devanahalli fort was really good. There isn't much to see here but it looks like a good picnic spot to hang out with friends and family. A part of the fort overlooks a lake, it was peaceful.

It's good to visit for 2 to 3 hours. It could be a part of the trip because of its historical significance but can't spend an entire day here. There are few temples inside which were also good to see. Please maintain the place

It's a good, decent place for a day's picnic around the Bangalore City. This fort falls on the way to Nandi Hills, Avalabetta, Chikkaballapur etc. You will enjoy this place in a group. You can keep walking on the wall. You will find a highly densed village right inside the fort. Somehow this fort looks clean.

Old monument without maintenance. You have Fort compound where you can walk and have a view of lake and surroundings. Don’t go with high expectations but love towards history. While coming from Nandi Hill side, you can visit fort and temples inside.
