Nothing much to see here... we went on a weekday and it was complete deserted... even then there was a person to charge 50 rs for car parking when there was no need to manage or pay for parking... also there was a guy to charge 5 rs per shoe for keeping shoes when entire place was empty... there was 1 guide who forcefully started explaining about the place and then asking for money...

Lovely place. Makes us proud of our rich heritage. The garden is a peaceful delight. The mosque is a great place to pray and imagine our ancestors doing the same centuries ago.

Amazing gardening 😍
And peaceful environment. A great leader Shaheed Tippu sultan (ra) rests here!
Visited here on the day of his death anniversary! A lot of visiters come here! Aqsa mosque is situated adjacent to the gumbaz! You can pray here. Don't need to search a mosque! Overall worth visiting here!

On our way to Wayanad from Bangalore via Mysore road, we took a halt at this heritage place. The officials have taken some really good steps to maintain the cleanliness of the place. I don't know much about the place but I guess, it holds the graves of Tipu Sultan. *I am really sorry if I put this wrong.* The garden area is extremely beautiful.

This place is a must visit to every tourist heading towards mysore. It is the grave of the "First Freedom Fighter of India" Hazrat Tippu Sultan. The place is beautiful constructed and maintained by the historical sites authority of India. You can explore the place and see the graves of almost the entire family of the great Tippu Sultan. There are horse rides offered outside the Gumbaz as well and even ATV quadbike rides as fun activities. You can feel the vibe of the place assoon as you enter it. I suggest you to visit it and take some inspiration back with you. There is a mosque next to the Gumbaz as well.

The Gumbaz is a mausoleum at Srirangapattana. The building is at the centre of a landscaped garden. It has the graves of Tippu Sultan, his father and his mother. There are also many other graves on the site. This is a popular tourist site which often tend to get crowded. This compound was held by the british after the fall of TIpu. The british allowed the body of tipu to be buried here.

Be carefull of the autos and cabs here. they tend to overcharge the visitors. Please check the rates before accepting thier offers.

Little fact about this place: The original carved doors of the mausoleum have been removed and are now displayed at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. The present doors made of ebony and decorated with ivory were gifted by Lord Dalhousie.

1 guide who forcefully started explaining about the place without our permission and then asking for money...

Located after the Summer Palace of Tipu Sultan, this is the burial place of his and immediate family members. The place is neatly maintained. There are tombs of many other people present here. There is no entrance fee but you have to pay for parking of ₹40. There is a place for footwear storage before you proceed to Gumbaz. There is a man inside who will explain to you the history and architecture of this place and you can reward him per your wish. Good to visit place when you explore Srirangapattna.
