Kamalambika is believed to have been doing penance for goodness of this world. Her sitting style is different and you can't see such a ambika's style. She wears crescent 🌙 and ganga on her head. She is in the form of yogini. The thiruvarur is known after her name as kamalayam. It is one of the 51 sakthi peedas. The temple was earlier known as kamakottam. She is the gnana sakthi of Lord Thiyagaraja. Muthu swami deeksathar have sung many sanskrit songs in praise of the goddess.
