Lingaraj temple

Couldn’t have asked for more. From hustle and bustle of city to slightly peaceful atmosphere with Lingaraj temple. One of the oldest temple in the capital city of Odisha. Must visit place for worshippers. Unfortunately mobile phones and camera not allowed inside the temple. Had a lovely end to busy Saturday.

One of most beautiful temple complexes situated in Bhubaneswar. The temple premises are beautiful and the temples are curved with various kind of art. There are 12 shiva temples inside it. People who are looking for solace can visit lingaraj temple and enjoy the ethereal peace. There's no unnecessary crowd or noise.

It is a beautiful and serene temple complex. It is more than a thousand years old with beautiful stone sculptures and you can call it as a Temple City. Puja and worshipping continues till date in this temple. Complex is vast with many large and small temples and you can sit anywhere in the complex and pray calmly. Whole temple complex can be seen and photographed from outside the complex from the tower specially built for it. However, Camera and mobile phone are not allowed in to the complex. The complex is well maintained.

Main temple of Bhubaneshwar dedicated to lord Shiva.The temple is century older than Jagganath Temple ,Puri.
Mobile,Camera not allowed inside the campus to better to leave it in your cab.Other thatn main temple of Lord Shiva there are different temples dedicated to different gods,its a huge temple complex so have sufficient time to explore.
As photography is not allowed inside the temple complex so after visiting the temple and darshan we can go to the platform situated outside of the temple complex in left side wall which was constructed for non Hindus to have a glimpse of temple ,from there can have some good view of temple for photo.

One can easily do meditation sitting in front of Mahadev and I am sure that he will attain the peak of the peace there.
I loved this place and willing to go there again and again

Lingaraj temple in bhubaneswar odisha is a marvel of Ancient odiya hindu architecture.
The whole lingaraj temple compound/ premises consists if one biggest lingaraj (lord shiva) temple and several other almost 108 temple of almost all major deities of India.
The stone masonry work is so precise and beautiful it cannot be explained in words.
People must visit this temple to gain confidence in our ancient heritage.

The best time to visit is in the off season. I came here in peak season, hence the was a big line of people to enter the temple. Inside the temple no cell phone is allowed. In outside the temple there is a pond and other structures. The beauty and the rest of the things you should experience by your own by visiting by your own.

Great place with marvellous architecture. Though photography is not allowed inside the temple premises but outside a small place has been built from where photography can be done. It is said that the whole temple was built from one single stone.
