Location s accurate.
Vishnu temple is located at Bishnupur which is 27kms away from Imphal city on tiddim road. This conical temple of Lord Vishnu built in 1467during the reign of King Kyamba. It is interesting because of its antiquity and architectural design which was influenced by Chinese style.
Bishnupur is also well known for its stoneware production. The bustling district headquarter is popular for hill grown orange, yongchak( tree bean) and vegetables. Shoibum(fermented bamboo-shoot) scents the air around the town market.

Every citizen is proud of culture & heritage, state Maithe community of Manipur is following the vaishnavism & should be proud of it. The Vishnu temple of Bishnupur is so ancient but neglected by the locals. visitors / tourists are not guided properly no one is available to enlighten the rich history of Bishnupur & Vishnu temple except the Archeological Survey of India sign Board. The village committee & ASI should take care of the heritage site & glorify. It can also be made one of the most visited site of the Manipur, as all the tourists visit loktak & INA museum. The Manipur Tourism should give more emphasis in development & beautification along with ASI.

This temple is one of the oldest known brick temples in Manipur. The Vishnu temple was built during the reign of king Kyamba (1467-1508 CE) of Manipur. It is believed that he constructed this temple after receiving a Vishnu emblem from the neighbouring Shan king (upper Burma). The style resembles a Bengali-hut type structure. Built with brick and lime surkhi, it consists of a square & a rectangular porch. Internally, the temple measures 2x2m and the porch measures 2.10x1.1m approx. The temple is covered by a corbelled roof.

Nice small serene temple - closed currently so you can only see the structure from outside. It is a ASI property but the upkeep could be better. There is a hand loom centre on the other side. Worth visiting.

Real small and closed. 2 mins from the main road so if you are really passing thru the visnupur road, you may come here for 5 mins else skip.
