Kappil Bhagavathy Temple Varkala

It is an amazing temple.. Here you can see a Bhagavathy temple which has been here more than 100s of years.. There we can see two constructions on the front of the temple, which is told as KALITHATTU, where Kerala arts like Kadakali was performed.. And the land area around it are used for Practicing Football.

Closes at 10 am and opens at 5.30 pm in the evening...
Large ground and there are space to take rest... There is a shiva temple , 5 minutes walk from the temple. Even if the atmosphere is so hot, people can rest under the shadows of big trees in the premises...

A scenic ancient family temple .The Bhagavati temple is in a vast property. It is very near the lagoons backwaters sea and Railway station. Lots of tourist activities in the viscinity. 10kms to Varkala town and 5kms to Paravur town. Buses and Trains available at Kappil Junction around 500mts away . Temple time 6to 10am and 5 to 7.30pm.

A calm and quiet place. There is a pond inside the temple. It is very close to kappil beach.

Kappil bhagavathi temple is one of the oldest temple in trivandrum district its been there more than 500 years ago we get wonderful positive wibe from this temple

History says that this temple had a golden kodimaram which was destroyed by Mukhilan an emperor who attacked Travancore during 17th Century
