One of the well known Lord Siva temple in kerala . The temple is related to markandeya so who ever have death fear means better ting to pray here , surely you will get a better peace of mind . Sankabhishekam is one of the famous offering in here . There is a very big pond you can found nearby the temple .

Really peaceful, pious atmosphere. Real story of the temple is detailed in the official temple site. Parking place available. There's a local tea shop which provides good tea / coffee and snacks. Now a days herbal tea is not available there!

This temple is very near to Thirunavaya temple. Shanghabhishekam and mrithunjaya homam are two mostly perfomed offerings for lord shiva to appease him and delay death.

A very very old Temple. As per the history Yama had come to take Markandeya back after his life on Earth was completed. Markandeya has taken the refuge in the Temple holding the Shiva Linga inside this Temple and was requesting for help from Lord Shiva. It is said that Lord Shiva breaks open one of the Pupil Trees, comes out and Kill Yama with his Trishul. After killing Yama, Lord Shiva cleans his Trishul in the Pond, which is situated in the South West side of the Temple.

There are a lot of small temples dedicated to Lord Krishna, Lord Ayyappa, Bhagawathi etc. There is a huge Temple pond inside.

This is a must visit Temple. Very peaceful and Nostalgic Temple.

The Thriprangode Siva Temple where Bhagavan sits in the form of Kalasamharamoorthy is located at Tirur near Alathiyur Hanuman Temple and Thirunavaya Navamukunda Temple. This ancient temple has history associated to Sage Markandeya who was rescued by Lord Siva from the throngs of death. Mruthyunjaya homam, Sankhabhishekham and Dhara are the important offerings here. It has a huge compound. Breakfast is given to the devotees on a regular basis. Very very helpful and sincere temple staff. Had a good experience visiting the temple.
