The Adoor Mahalingeshwara Temple is one of the splendid temples at Kerala. Makara Sankramam is an important ceremony held here. The festival at the Adoor Temple consists of a holy dip into the river and concludes with mass feeding. It is known as Kumbhabhishekam.The structure of the temple beholds five vital elements interior space, inner portion, middle portion, outer portion and courtesy, the indispensable factors with Kerala temple architecture.

Located in sylvan surroundings on the southern banks of the River Payaswini, this ancient Siva Temple, Sree Mahalingeswara Temple at Adoor, contains a Sanskrit inscription in Kannada script which has been ascribed to the Western Chalukya King Kirthivarman II (745 - 755 AD).

One of the oldest shiva temple in Kerala, near Karnataka border. You can visit for all of your prayers and poojas. Annual jaatre is from March 11 to march 18.

Adoor Mahalingeshwara Temple is my most favourite temple.Ancient and historical temple.There is peaceful atmosphere here..And look beautiful😍
