Keezhur Shri Shastha Temple

This is one of the oldest temple in northern part of Kerala with lot of hystoric backgrounds. Well organised place with true atmosphere for the devotees. There is a local railway station "Kalanad" which is right infront of this temple which makes devotees reach there very easily. A must visit place for those who love Hindu temple.

Schedule and Timing:

The Four day festival is held in the Malayalam month of Thulam which is usually October/November. The festival usually falls in November.

Description:

The Cheriya Pattu Mahotsavam is held to receive blessings of the presiding deity Sastha, the son of Lord Siva. Groups of people sing songs of praise together to please the deity.

On the third day, Thidambu Nrutham along with Pattu Utsavam is performed. Special Poojas are held during these days. The Pattutsavam is originally said to have started in the Nilambur Kovilakam.
