It is one of Kerala's five major temples devoted to Lord Sree Rama.

The shrine is a great example of creative quality, with elaborate wood carvings, terracotta artwork, and mural paintings carved on wooden planks on its ceilings.

The temple's yearly festival lasts seven days and begins on Vishu day (Kerala New Year) in Medam (mid-April – mid-May).

I cordially invite you everyone to receive the Lord's blessings and participate in the lavish and exotic festivities.

Thiruvangad Sree Ramaswami Temple (Malayalam: തിരുവങ്ങാട് ശ്രീരാമസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം) is a temple located in the eastern part of Thalassery.[1][2] The temple is generally known as the Brass Pagoda from the copper sheeting of its roof. A part of the temple was damaged by Tipu Sultan's troops in the 18th century, but the temple is believed to have been saved from destruction. It was one of the outposts of the Thalassery fort in the 18th century. Conferences between the officials of the East India Company and local leaders in its precincts, at which political treaties and agreements were signed. The annual festival of the temple commences on Vishu day in Medam and lasts for seven days.

Sree Ramaswamy Temple is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Rama located at Thiruvangad near Thalasserry in the Kannur district of Kerala. It is a unique temple because of its legendary and historical significance. It is one of the four famous Sree Rama shrines in the state. The deity in this temple is known as Thiruvangad Perumal. The temple has a copper-plated sree kovil. The architecture of this temple is outstanding with eye-catching wood work. The sanctum sanctorum and the adjoining areas are true examples of the exquisite temple architecture of Kerala. Even the wood work of this pilgrim center is based on the poetic descriptions of Ramayana, the great Hindu epic.

The idol of the Thiruvangadu Sree Rama Temple is believed to be installed by Lord Parasurama, the great saint. Some legends say that it was installed by Swetha Muni, a disciple of saint Agastya. The annual festival, Vishy Mahotsavam of this temple lasts for 8 days
