smartrooms is at a perfect location, very easy to get around with public transportation and walking distance to awesome cafes and ganga ghat. the place is great, rooms are very clean and has everything you need. Ashish was also very helpful since the beginning, available at all times whenever we had any questions. they have their own roof top cafe with the beautiful view . Leo (puppy) was so friendly with everyone. still can't get over his cuteness 😅

Great place. The place and staff made the stay not just comfortable but also pleasant and provided home like environment. The mountain view was awesome. Staff ever ready for any kind of help or support. Very humble and caring like a family.
Spacious room, good customized freshly cooked food. For travelers wanting to stay long term, this is the best place. "Home away from home" is the right term for this place.

This place feels like home! Warm and personal atmosphere, nice clean rooms with all you need, calm and cozy rooftop with view over mountains and THE best warm hearted, service minded humans (and dog) always there to help you with just Anything. Thank you Smartrooms for some weeks that could not have turned out any better.

It is a very nice and spacious flat in a beautiful environment . I stay there for one month. Ashish, the main owner is a very nice person and very caring. We are the senior citizen and he gives all the service like a son.

I stayed at Smart Rooms for three weeks in October 2022. It is a small, well kept hotel run by Ashish and friends. It is centrally situated on a quiet street i Lower Tapovan and a perfect base if you want to spend some time in and around Rishikesh. The atmosphere at the hotel is very friendly and welcoming and there is a nice rooftop restaurant that serves fresh and healthy food. Since the manager has vast experiences as an adventure tour operator in Himalayas, you also get very good and relyable advice of things to do while in Uttarakand. I'm already planning my return trip!

Let's focus on experience rather than rating:

1. We booked the room from airbnb, where it was mentioned that room contains toaster and tea kettle. Which was not there.

2. Due to some drainage issue in their home, for first two days we had to bear horrible smell in whole room. Then they changed the room for us but the smell was somewhat there in second room too.

3. It's not hill view location from your room, from their terrace _it's hill view. From your room, you will see filthy blank plot in front of their home, so if you are looking for view from your room choose another options

4. Service is slow, in new room there was no mirror, after requesting I had to wait 2 days to get one in the room. ( we have whatsapp chat in case owner wants to cross check with the employee it really took 2 days)

5. The best part about stay was food and nearby places. The chef Mr bhist is really good chef. If you are staying for long stay then I would suggest to rely on his cooking. He makes good dishes.

6. Another best part of their location is in terms of nearby cafes and laxman jula and tapovan ghat being walking distance. Google nearby Cafe when you are there.

7. The terrace view is good. You can work from there if you are on workation.

8. We had bad experience in pricing of cabs. As we were coming from dehradun Airport to their location, we requested cab they charged 1000/=

In return of the journey they said charges will be 1200/= (this is not the price every cab company charges in rishikesh. As quoted by owner in reply _ thank you for teaching wrong industry knowledge to hide your employees fault.)

On this change, we reached out to local cab driver to book and the charge was only 700/=

Based on this experience, "never take extra services from hotel management _better ask locals and take decisions"

Overall experience can be said ok. As mentioned food and nearby location was Good part. If you are looking for room with basic facilities and cost friendly price where your purpose is not luxury stay then you can go for it.

About the property:
Smartrooms is great value for money stay. This property is at perfect location near laxman jhula, and at walking distance fro Tapovan/Sai ghat. The place is great, neat and clean. Very food place for people who are looking for long stay options. They have high speed wifi, power backup.

About host and staff:
The host Vikas is incredible host. He made sure I had everything sorted. His expert local knowledge helped in deciding what to do, where to eat, how to go. He also booked my activities in Rishikesh, arranged cabs for me whenever I wanted o travel outside Rishikesh for day trip. He accompanied us for Kunjapuri trek, made sure we get to see all the peaks that are visible from temple.
Their staff is very friendly, especially their chef. He cooks very good food, takes our recommendation in consideration. If you are planning to stay here for long period you can rely on his cooking skills.

Overall this has been very good experience for me. I have spent 3 wees here and I would not be exaggerating if I say this are the best 3 weeks of the year for me. Already planning next trip here.

Good rooms in tapovan. Rooms were clean, has hot water and wifi facility. Was able to park our vehicle in the vicinity and it was safe.
