Not a worth to travel 50 kms and to see a Fort. It's getting renovated nowadays.

Kandhar fort is 2 km long from city. Location given on Google map is accurate. Parking space is available for two wheeler in the gate and four wheeler vehicle you have to park outside gate. There is no charges for parking your vehicle.

Please take water bottle with you as in fort area food and water is not available.

Fort is not well maintained. Some Restoration work is running around here.
Entry fees is not fixed, you have to pay as your wish.

A place with a lot of history, it is getting the attention from authorities it needs. The restoration work is going on in certain sections of the fort and needs to be appreciated, yet a lot remains to be done. Some information boards are legible, others not so much and some are absolutely washed out. There are some ruins that have been kept for display (have attached the photos).

Needs improvement by all the means. Today visited this Fort & was very much disappointed. There are only two guards appointed for everything (on duty guard told us). Place is very much dirty & overgrown bushes are everywhere. Quite difficult to walk between them. Hope government will look into it.

This fort is not properly maintained by the authorities.
There is a lake nearby where you can go to relax.

Kandhar fort is the very old and and big in area Kandhar is a town and a municipal council in Nanded district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It lies near the western shore of Manyad Reservoir. Kandhar was famous as a major Jain centre in the Rashtrakuta kingdom, having Malkhed or Manyakheta as his capital. A huge statue of Kshetrapala (deity related to Jains) is found near the bhuikot; the statue is broken but from the toenail that survives, its height is estimated to be more than 50 feet. Presently, there is an old Digambar Jain Temple in Kandhar which is awaiting for its renovation.

Plenty of monuments and historical places in India, but we don't have value for that..govt. too don't care about renovation and restoration..
