Chandannagore Court

Very old court (more than 150 yrs.) Located near the Rani ghat.

The strand and not the court is awesome to hang out as it is located right beside the Ganges. It is both historically important and beautiful for morning and evening walks . This is a place where both the young and old generation can spend some quality time and enjoy. Great for the weekends. As for the Chandernagore court, this too has its own historical importance. The present court building was built in 1878 and was primarily a hotel for the French personnel as Chandernagore was one of their colony besides Pondicherry. After independence of India, it has transformed into a judicial building and regular court sit here.

Chandannagore Court is a beautiful iconic building of French rule. Previously it was known as Spencer's Hotel.

Chandannagar Sub-divisional court is located at Kabi Bharat chandra Rd, Barabazar, Chandannagar, West Bengal 712136, India. Criminal and Civil/ Land related both Judicial case trials executed here by Junior and Senior Judges, Magistrates. Affidavit, Notary by Public Prosecutor also done here.

First of all this is the place with great historical attachment. This was founded in 1878 almost, 150 years old building carries many things. At that time this is used to be a hotel of a French personnel after independence this building transformed as judicial building and now court sit here regularly..
