The bakery started by Mambally Bapu at Thalassery in 1880...and said to have made the first cake in India to help a Britisher celebrate Christmas

Loved the baked items bought from here. The owners and staff were courteous and ever obliging when we asked about the history associated with the place.

Just wish they would do more to highlight their historical connection and make it more interesting by focusing on their old machines and recipes rather than being situated in the bland shopping complex space.

When i was a kid my father used to buy jam roll and Cream roll from here which is so delicious and yummy.I used to fought with my sister for this jamm rolls and Cream roll.

The cream and the bread makes such a good combo which makes ur mouth water.
This Bakery and there snacks , pastries are really close to me and my memory.
I couldn't find that jam roll and Cream roll these days.
Must must try there Pastries and there special items.
Good service.

A bakery with a history!

This bakery is located on the ground floor of Harbour City Mall, a small shop selling only their branded products.

Liked their barley biscuits, plum cake(must try), soup sticks and mini egg/veg puffs.

Their pastries could be better.

Overall everything is worth the money.

Tasted their special plum cake yesterday. It's the best I've had thus far.

Bakery with a strong legacy - First Bakery in Kerala, credited to have made the first cake in the history of Kerala. Mambally Bappu made history by baking Christmas Cakes for the British which eventually helped in Thalassery getting the title - Land of 3Cs of which 1 C is Cake.
All major Bakery chains in Kerala can be related to Mambally in some way or the other.

This is their outlet in Harbour city. Easily the best bread and biscuits in Thalassery, I am told they use the traditional oven to make bread and that shows.
