Premium fine dining vegetarian restaurant. Amazing Amazing place for breakfast. Had Masala dosa, vada and their special Rocket dosa which was 3 foot long. The rocket dosai was 450 rupees. Dosais tasted amazing, so did their sambars and vada too. Nice ambience and service as well.

Great breakfast place, courteous staff, decently spread apart tables, quick service make for a good experience in one of the most congested parts of Chennai. Parking can be an issue during peak times.

The food was perfect and tasty. They were served with minimum wait considering the fact that the restaurant was pretty busy when we came in. The service was good but could have been better. I just saw one person shuttling around attending to all the tables. This can be improved by having more waiters to attend to the people.

I have been visiting this restaurant for ages but I never wrote about their excellent taste. If you are looking for Udipi cuisine in chennai, this is one of the must try places. Usually we order rasam vadai, curd vadai, idly and many varieties of dosa. I love their Lunch thali too. I don’t recommend you to try their milkshakes and beverages as you wouldn’t be excited about the taste. Rest for the food are guaranteed and I am sure you will fall in love with it. Decent space restaurant with less car parking facility.

Mathsya Egmore is Udupi hotel.
A wide range of items are included in the Special south Indian thali for Rs.250: starting from a Soup and it ends with a dessert Icecream. Or fruit salad. The main thali has rice sambar rasam curd soup, three veg sabji, a papad, a gulob jamoon, and what not
All items were good in taste.
But the taste of sambar was not good.

Ambience is good.
Waiting time during peak hours.
Restrooms and wash rooms are available.

UPI payments accepted.
Walkable distance from Egmore Station.
Parking facility available.
Room Accommodation also available.

For those who want breakfast in good quality and taste can dine in here. Poori, idli, dosa, pongal, vada, Gulab jamun and a strong filter coffee in their breakfast combo is worth having with satisfaction for 200Rs. The food was tasty and also presented nicely. The restaurant is air conditioned but for a busy place like Egmore, to my surprise it was less crowded when I had my breakfast around 9.30 during a weekday.

Recently last Friday we crossed out one restaurant from our bucket list which was pending for a long time and it was one the best decisions made. This place is a Veg lovers paradise. Rasa Vadai and Curd vadai is the best dishes available here and oh my they were so hot literally burnt my mouth and throat. Aloo 55 spicy fry was super hot and spicy and made a great starter. Mysore Bonda was good. We had Butter Masala dosa and Mysore dosa and they were good.
For dessert we had Gulab Jamun Cheese Cake and it was super Tasty (Must Try)

Will we visit again? Definitely A big Yesss!!!

We visited late evening around 9PM and the restaurant was packed. We managed to get a seat for two but there were lots of people who came as a family and had to wait for a long time so plan your visits early.

Service needs to be improved. I understand the restaurant was packed and they had to take care lots of folks. We got lucky as we sat next to the bill counter and the staff in the counter assisted us.if not for him we wouldn’t have got our orders.

Payments can be made through Cash/Card/UPI transactions

A good friend turned me on to Mathsya, telling me it was the best place to great South Indian vegetarian fare. He was right! From the classic So. Indian breakfast, to great veggie entrees, to delicious Chinese Hakka Noodles...all fabulous! I also had their special Udupi Thali, which was simply amazing! The staff was friendly and helpful. The Owner told me the place has been there so long, you might see your best friend's grandfather at the table next to you!
