The university is an well recognised and prominent institute in west bengal offering undergraduate postgraduate and doctoral courses with multiple specialisation. Talented faculties are here. Environment is marvelous. Good relationship amongst teachers and students.

Vidyasagar University was built up by an Act of the West Bengal governing body which was told in the Calcutta Gazette on 24 June 1981. It is an affiliating college in Paschim Medinipur area of southern West Bengal, India. It offers courses at the undergrad and post-graduate levels. It was established by the mathematician and analyst from the University of Cambridge, Prof. Anil Kumar Gain. Vidyasagar University has 29 departments organized into two faculties: Science and Arts & Commerce.Affirmation in undergrad and postgraduate course is chiefly in view of the aftereffect of higher auxiliary (10+2) and graduation (10+2+3) level outcomes, individually. It's situated one corner side of midnapore...near to gopegarh...and also nearby from midnapore station..over all good university...nice campus...department are good and teachers and non teaching stuffs are student friendly and helpful..for transport university has bus facilities upto 8pm. The canteen is very beautiful and well maintained.
Lastly the central library is very very beautiful with its huge collection.

Vidyasagar University is a very well known university having excellent faculties and the Campus Area is also vast, neat and tidy. Classes are held regularly and teachers are Student - friendly. Besides having various Departments, it also has a Santhali language Department for the students who are interested to study their regional language. It shows the University's inclination towards preserving its rich cultural tradition and the regional culture of the Adivasis of Bengal.

Vidyasagar University one of the best university in West Bengal. It's NACC grade B++ . Campus is very beautiful and the over all university system is very beautiful. Vidyasagar University provide many subjects. And this university's all faculty is very good .
This university situated in West Medinipur district, five minutes in auto from the medinipur station.
The overall university is very good.

Vidyasagar University is an oldest University of West Bengal.
It' located at the paschim Medinipur.
Campus area is very beautiful and surrounding by green forest.
There have every subject's masters course is available . Regular and distance mood are available.

Admission in undergraduate and postgraduate course is mainly based on the result of higher secondary (10+2) and graduation (10+2+3) level results, respectively. Each college sets up their own criteria for admission in undergraduate course, but all are mainly based on higher secondary results.[19][20]

For research level programs, the aspirants have to sit for a qualifying test (RET) followed by an interview. It is mandatory that they secure at least 55% marks in their post graduate level examination.

If the aspirants qualify the all India examination like NET, GATE, SET then their admission in Ph.D is only based on interview.
