Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) is a state-level, public collegiate university that was established in 2000. Formerly known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) is a ‘University of National Importance’, specially for the UG and PG courses offered in the field of Engineering and Science. AKTU is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Presently, the University houses four constituent colleges, including the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Architecture Lucknow, Centre for Advanced Studies, UP Institute of Design Noida. Apart from this, the University has 49 affiliated colleges and 756 institutes under its name that offer a total of 25 UG, PG and PhD programmes across numerous specialisations and streams. Some of the most popular streams are Engineering, Business & Management Studies, IT Software, Medicine & Health Sciences, Design and Science.

One of the worst university in my history. Contacted many times through email and phone, but no replied, then I visited university to collect MOI certificate. I got my MOI certificate after wait for 5 hours. Pathetic employees in the university. They all was coming to office after 11 AM. Worst government employees in my history. Gaurds was very good and they helped me get my MOI certificate.

The security system is much better than other colleges in Lucknow. Outsiders cannot visit without proper entry letter and aadhar info . The security and college staff are very coordinative and helpful . Campus is clean and peaceful with a cafeteria , SBI ATM and a post office inside .

The marking system is worst , you never get marks according to your hardwork , each and every time after results , I feel demotivated. They doesn't care about student's mental health. Even not giving one day gap in exams 3 paper continuously in shift of 2 to 5 pm 🥺 , that means no proper time to rest and revise other subject. Feeling stressed 🤕

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), formerly Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), is a public collegiate university in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established as the Uttar Pradesh Technical University through the Government of Uttar Pradesh on 8 May 2000. To reduce workload and to ensure proper management, the university was bifurcated into separate universities, Gautam Buddh Technical University (GBTU) and Mahamaya Technical University (MTU), with effect from 1 May 2010.[2] In 2013, as a new government came into power, the university was formed again by combining the two on 5 January 2013.[3]
