Amazing place! Heritage buildings were originally constructed by the British. Architecture of these old buildings are breathtaking!! Maintenance seems to bad. New buildings are bad looking and also in bad condition.

The Madras university is one of the most prestigious universities in India. Established almost 200 years back and still going strong.

The university seems to take ages to take decisions and this hampers it's progress. Syllabus' of many departments need revision. Also the University is yet to approve the Dual Degree courses allowed by UGC! As per the officials here, it needs to be approved by Syndicate in their next meeting which God only knows when!!! Because of this students are joining other universities such as IGNOU or other Pvt Universities for their second degree. Hope the officials of UoM will change their attitude for the betterment of the university.

One of the best university in Chennai the Madras University this University is located in very near to beach this university has lot of departments this University is very vast area and the buildings are very old building but those building architects is very nice any architects wouldn't want to learn more about their architect of the structure they can go and visit Chennai University currently called Madras University in 21st century we have changed many thing in our way of living like for food and travel and for even education but in Madras University still it is in the process of the legacies transaction the student communications can be improved more for example if any existed student they want to visit their department they can help more and they can solve the issue then and there example if anyone want to get there English medium of transcript certificates this has to be done on only visiting the brands and talk to them and something the paper after something all the paper even though you have to go and visit again to collect your certification this can be done while post also but they're not accepting the post this is on sample of issue which matters University currently have this can be improved compared to other university when you talk about moderate University they are more ahead from the Madras University they are doing this process very quickly and very helpful way to the student hope the Madras University can fix this issue and help the student future thank you
