Title : Faculty of Social Science, BHU: Full ReviewPlacements : BA Social Science is not a professional course. That's why there are less chances for campus placements here. But some students are being selected for jobs by Future Group, Reliance and other companies. Also some students of Travel and Tourism Management get jobs every year. Rate of internship is relatively much lower in this college. Basically only few students from Geography and Travel Tourism Management gets the opportunity to be a part of internship.Infrastructure : Classrooms of New Lecture Theater are spacious, clean and modern but in Old building the situation is just opposite. The Departmental Library is quite good and spacious. There are many playgrounds in this college and almost every type of sports group is there. Wi-Fi is available in every hostel restricting 4 GB/day for per student. There is also a quite spacious cyber library for the students equipped with superfast internet. Free medical facilities in University Health Complex and Sir Sunderlal Hospital. This college is full of greenery and thus an eye candy.Faculty : There is a lack of professors in some subjects. Many Research Scholars are having the teaching responsibilities on their back. Professors in Hindi medium are comparatively better than English ones. Also there is a lack of good English medium professors. Course curriculum is quite average. Just jug up the previous year papers and some important questions from guess papers and you can become one of the toppers.Other Details : Few cultural events take place in social science faculty, main ones are Abhikalpan and Spandan. Campus Surroundings are eye candy. As it is full of greenery, walking around is a pleasure. 'Earn while you Learn' facility is also available for the students even though the fees is quite less

Good ambiance for study.
This faculty has well maintained good size of furnished classrooms, equipped with good desks, Projector, and wifi connectivity.

Department Library is big enough where you can find almost every relevant book. If not available, you can write a letter to the head of the dept. for meeting the requirements.📚

The building is surrounded by greenary that creates a pleasant atmosphere.
The main entrance of this building is Wheelchair accessible and the doors are wide enough for people who use wheelchairs.♿ But elevators are not installed inside the building.

I am studying here in this faculty. This is one of the best institute for students in social Sciences stream all across the country. Here almost all of them are an UPSC aspirants who are preparing for civil service exam. The teachers and professor are awesome here and they have vast years of experience of teaching and have extensive knowledge about their subject. It is one of the oldest faculty in entire BHU. It is located near Akela Baba mandir. The building is huge and accommodate hundreds of students and many classes runs simultaneously.

I have studied here for my graduation, I spend 3yrs of life here, this place is very dear to me, lovely atmosphere, good teaching faculty

Faculty of social sciences, here all the subjects of social sciences is available. To take admission you have to give entrance exam of Banaras Hindu University.
It's a great place for students who want to do research and PhD.

This is faculty of social sciences. It is opposite of faculty of arts old CHC building. In this building there are department of Political science, Psychology, English, philosophy, Sanskrit, Pali and Dean office of faculty of social sciences. It is an eminent faculty.

The Faculty of Social Sciences being one of the oldest and distinguished centers of learning has a long lineage of strengthening the academic fabric of the Banaras Hindu University. It has hosted scores of scholars and researchers whose contribution has been recognized and acclaimed world over. In addition to the catering of teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the five disciplines of Economics, History, Political Science, Psychology and Sociology, the Faculty has branched out its new direction by setting up new centres in areas such as, women's studies and peace studies along with some of the professional courses to meet the emerging challenges of present day world. Research is also an integral and significant component of the academic activity at the Faculty level and the contribution of some of the teachers has been recognized at the national and international levels.
