Bandhavgarh tiger reserve is the foremost place to watch the royal, mystical and magical tiger very closely. Though the forest department in bandhavgarh is almost messy but even it is a must visit place. The forests are dense, tranquil and serene with a good population of wild animals. And off course i have made a documentary film on Bandhavgarh some 15 years back.

A beautiful place to watch tigers in the wild (if you lucky enough to see them!) . They only allow a few cars into each of the zones everyday, so book early to get the zones with the maximum tiger sitings. All the guides and drivers are extremely knowledgeable, and will do their best to ensure that you see tigers. Leopards, panthers, bears, wild boars and a variety of deer are some of the other wildlife you can expect to find in the park.
The safaris, especially the morning ones, are long and tiring, but the views and the feeling of being alone in nature are well worth the effort (and cost!).

1. The safari jeeps are very primitive and make lot of noise.animals rather get intimidated due to the metalic sounds and run away.

2. There should be forest officials posted here n there during safaris. Guides n visitors were all shouting when they cited a tigress. It destroyed the tranquility of the atmosphere n cud hv been dangerous.

3. Govt n forest officials should think of saving the tiger cubs and create a safe place for their rehabilitation all the more ,so that we can develop wildlife tourism as it's happening in other countries like S Africa, Kenya etc.

4. Govt should take initiative to mk local PPL understand not to poach, kill or hurt wildlife as wildlife citing is one of the main sources of income of that region.

5. Govt should also consider reducing the sectors and conduct regular petrolling to ensure wellbeing of the precious wildlife.

6. Most of steps are in our hands. We can develop the place which would help maintain environment, wildlife n support locals.

We went in May, we were lucky enough to saw two tigers in our only safari. We didn't booked the safari in advance, so got it in the current quota. So please book your safari in advance.

Loved the nature and thrill to find a tiger ....you be unlucky to find animals and come back with no sights of tiger or elephant but that's the different between safari and zoo ..it was great experience..
