Abbreviated as DADN, Dr. Ambedkar Nagar is the station providing rail connectivity to the town of MHOW. It lies 21 km ahead of Indore. It's the ending point of Broad Gauge line coming from Indore, and the starting point of Meter Gauge line heading towards Omkareshwar Road. It has Three platforms, one catering to Meter Gauge Services and other two catering to Boad Gauge. The platforms are well connected by Foot Over Bridge (FoB). The station is well connected to Indore city by roadways too, and buses ply regularly between Indore and Mhow.

Mhow as this station is otherwise known, is a small station with a few departures to other cities. The station is particularly famous for one of India's last surviving Meter Guage section upto Omkareshwar. The tourist train is the key attraction here which departs at 11.05AM and takes 2hr and 20m to reach Kalakund, a distance of about 25 km, passing through Patalpani waterfalls and Chorai bridge and a few tunnels. The train has second sitting and AC Vistadome coaches for the benefit of tourists. Use the IRCTC website to book the to and fro tickets on this train (Fully reserved) and it can get busy during weekends and holidays. The train stops for tourists to visit the waterfalls and the bridge. The return from Kalakund is at 3.30 and arrival at Mhow is 45 min later. Lunch (simple thali) is available at Kalakund. Indore is about an hour and half by road and taxis and busses are available to Mhow. The station is maintained well with attractive murals and artwork. It is a photographers paradise. Please do visit and enjoy the tourist train. If you wish to proceed further to Omkareshwar, take the regular passenger which passes through dense forest enroute and is a paradise for sure. Carry food if you are travelling in this sector.

Meter gauge railway station near Indore on Western railways. Heritage train from MHOW to KALAKUND is a special attraction. It is a one day journey and very nice and attractive ghats. I recommend travelling in AC Chair car and return in second class. Kalakand is a dessert which one should not miss while traveling to KALAKUND. Memorable journey.
