The first thing I need to clarify is regarding the exact spot or location of Chitrey Waterfall! Most people tend to get disappointed when they don't find a waterfall at all! And I've come to understand that it's because some locals point at the Teesta bridge and name it as the waterfall! (Hard to digest? It was the same for me too).

The waterfall is approximately 300 mtrs. from the Teesta Bridge towards Kalimpong.

Natural and scenic beauty always appeals most of us! This waterfall too has its own beauty. However, I would have to say that I have seen better!
It isn't a very popular tourist spot because of some factors such as -
1) No infrastructure for relaxation or seating for the tourists have been made (government has scope of work for the same)
2) Second factor - it is waterfall that lies just next to the highway which does not make it secluded - for a considerably long relaxation!

Well, all said and done, one can always park the cab nearby and pose for a great selfie!

Not a typical "tourist spot". Not very picturesque either. The Himalayas are vast and this is not what you would want to see to experience the natural beauty of North Bengal. Very risky as well because of the constant landslides around the waterfall (if you would like to call it by that name.)

This is just a seasonal waterfall along NH10 near Teesta Bridge..
It is pretty high waterfall but it is not developed for tourists visit. There is no provision of good footpath to reach waterfall from the road. One can click picture from the road and there is plenty space for parking.
