Distance from alipurduar probably 35 kms. Main attraction tgn , bhutiabasty and chuniya watch tower on core area of Buxa Tiger Reserve. Also pukhri lake , big and small mahakal cave most popular. You can go all of these places with guide by jeep on forest department. Many Homestays available for staying.
Jayanti offers the flavours of the wild opted vast landscape of riverbed widened in floods every year from Bhutan hills. There are ruins of British made structures of bridges through these jungles and rivers made during pre-independence period connecting northeast India.
Dry and wide riverfront and moonlit night in Jayanti is a feast for the eyes.
The wild vast landscape, the forest under the sheltering sky is a nature lover’s paradise.
Many Resorts are here. Most of the resorts are nice and well decorated. Though they provide food in high price. Veg Thali, Egg Thali and Chiken Thali are respectively 120, 130 and 150.
We tried local foods. In a tea stall we found an yummy Samosa/Singara and an beautiful elaichi tea. Other snacks and sweets also available there.
The day we reached here, in the evening we saw wildfire on the high hills. It was spreading in a mysterious way.
We tried to go nearby to see that fire, we planned to go but suddenly it started raining. We tried to capture photo but in rain we were unable to use camera. Though we took some photos with phone.
In morning we also tried but the fire was vanished somehow and we failed to distinguish the spot.
Plz, do lunch at Dinante restaurant, it will be memorable to everyone.
