It's 12-13 km from Nainital. No boating is done in this lake. You can come to enjoy peaceful beauty of nature

I first saw this lake from the main highway to nainital...it was soo mesmerizing. Kur means shoe (like cow's shoe)...so from the top this lake looks like a cow's shoe...round. It seems like a lake build inside a bowl with small town around it. It was beautiful.... Greenery all around and the beautiful view of lake amidst the buildings. It was really looking beautiful. Thought there's not much to do in khurpatal...but still it is also among the list of all the famous lakes in Nainital.
This place is good for a peaceful and meditating trip.

Awesome place. The view from top is beautiful but its better to get close to the lake and hang around for a while to have some peaceful time.
Also, the journey from Mall Rd Nainital to this lake is fun on the bike.

A quick detour on your way to nainital will get you here, good view. Most people come here seeking for a stay or camp. Swimming or taking a bath is your won risk but I wouldn't recommend that as there is no easy arrangements to get into water. You can also visit the view point named after it and capture the scenic of this beuty from a littile above. I would recommend doing that instead of visit here if you don't want a stay for the night.
