Tropical butterfly Conservatory

Getting to this place from Srirangam is very tricky, as roads leading to this place are very narrow and passing through villages, however they are green on both sides filled with Coconut, Mango and Jackfruit trees, which is a treat to eyes!

They charge about 15 and 10 as entry fee for Adults and Kids respectively, while car parking fee is 40.

Inside there is plenty of trees and butterflies passing through. We can also spot multiple Peacock and Peahen inside, which is a treat to watch. They have put up plenty of information boards covering different aspects of butterflies, which will be a good education for kids.

Inside they have got small eatery too, wherein we can get some quick snacks and juices and Sarbath there costs around 30.

Indoor observatory was closed, which should have been the main attraction and it was very very disappointing and that’s the reason for four stars!

Perfect time to visit this place is probably between October Till February, as it is too hot in other months.

Once you are out of this place, make sure to visit Kollidam Flood bank, which is close by, from where we can even see Srirangam Temple tower!

Not maintained well and most enclosures for holding butterflies are damaged as of Sep 2022.
