Theng Tunnel, this 578 meters double lane longest tunnel (in Sikkim) is situated in the Gangtok-Chungthang highway in North Sikkim. This tunnel bypasses a strech of road which is prone to landslides and shooting rocks, thus providing a respite to locals, tourist and border security. It is amazing to see how each of the drivers drive through this tunnel with caution so as not to over shoot the speed limit and weight, since this tunnel is in a high seismic zone.

Theng Tunnel in North Sikkim district In Sikkim state of India is one if the longest tunnel built by the Border Roads Organization of the indian military. This us built and maintained by 107 RCC division. They are all engineers who specialize in building roads in the indo china border. Overall the journey between Gangtok and Mangan was facilitated by this new tunnel. Good initiative by the BRO.
