Excellent place to visit and you will always be proud to be an Indian. Great ceremony and on both sides of the border and the parade was superb started by women commanders. All the songs, dances by women were enthralling. Its once in life time experience to visit this place. I had personally spent more money to visit and take a detour to this place. Strongly recommended to visit. Great parking place as well.

A very lively event of beating retreat happens every evening. The crowd that attends the event is unimaginable. Millions of people from all across the country come everyday to watch the India-Pakistan salute.
We faced a lot of problems with the people who were selling things on the street. They come to you, paint your face without asking, bluff you to buy caps and face masks. Beware of them as they charge a bomb for things you didn't even want. They will fool you by saying things like "wearing this is compulsory inside". Please don't believe them.
The event is beautiful and the stadium is huge. You will feel the true essence of India if you visit the place.

WOW!!! What an absolutely magical, thrilling and adrenaline filled ceremony from both countries. This is one of those surreal moments in life which completely took us by surprise.

We went on a weekday and did not require any tickets to get in. Loved meeting all the friendly locals and taking pictures with the immaculately dressed rangers which made the experience fantastic.

The energy flowing through the crowd was intense and the atmosphere was so electric. We would love to visit again if we get the chance (this time from the Indian side) 😉

We have been travelling through Pakistan and have loved our time here. A full travel vlog can be found on our channel on YouTube:

Visiting the Atari - Wagah border should be on your to do list if you are visiting Amritsar. It's about a 45 minutes car drive from the main city. If you are driving there for the first time and depending on Google Maps, kindly type Atari and not wagah to take you through the fastest and best route. Things to remember: carry an identity card (they usually don't ask for one but it's good to have it on you, just in case) , Ladies-handbags are not allowed so make sure you don't carry one , try to be there at least by 2 pm to stand in line, cause it gets really very crowded and the seats fill up real quick, take care of your kids and your belongings , as its really very crowded. The best way to enjoy is to get a VIP pass. You sit real close to the gates and hence get a better view of the entire ceremony. The ceremony starts by 5pm sharp. They start by playing patriotic songs. Sometimes they call kids and women to dance and to wave huge flags. The ceremony ends with the flag being brought down and the gates close. Snacks and water are available to buy in the stands. There is a toilet in the parking as well as the center, though they aren't that clean.
Beautiful experience. A must visit place for every Indian. The energy, the feeling, the emotions, the atmosphere, everything was so powerful at this place. Do not miss the evening ceremony and please ensure to be seated inside before 4:00 PM, else you might end up standing somewhere with a poor view till 6:00 PM. In order to get a seat by 4:00 PM, you must reach the entrance gate atleast 30-45 minutes prior to that. And do not carry any bag with you.
Had the unexpected pleasure of attending the flag lowering ceremony here with several Indian friends while on an Intrepid Travel tour. The patriotic spirit was contagious and we were all caught up in it. The sergeant at arms acted like a cheerleader and revved up the crowd. It was great fun to watch all the people cheering. Impressive turbans on the soldiers.

Overall Experience: 5/5
Atmosphere: 5/5

A Very Special Place in India ♥️. This Place has a different Energy. A surreal Experience. Both sides Parade is Worth watching. They have some activities for all the females, and they also play Music so that they can enjoy, which makes it even more special.
In Summer Parade starts by 5.00 pm Parade is of 25 minutes, try to visit a little early, so that you can get front seats.

It is must visit location, the ceremony gives goosebumps.
It is suggested to reach 1.5 hours before the ceremony. Make sure to make a seat which is higher and away from stairs, as people stand on the stairs and hence block the view. Before the ceremony, there are few activities like ladies were given opportunity to run a small distance with Indian flag, dance on patriotic songs. After that, the ceremony started which had bit of dramatic flare in it. It is worth a watch and not to be missed.
