The walkway in the watch tower should have been broadened little bit more.
The roads leading to the site is very good. There are two main roads from the National Highway and both are in good condition. There is a fee for parking which is Rs.50 and the fee for entering the tower is Rs 10 each. The restrooms (both for ladies and gents) are in front of the fee counter and the charges are Rs 5 for each person. Restrooms are ok and it had water supply.
Bhimkund is a spectacular place laced with a religious fervor. It is said that the Pandavas had stayed for some time in this place. It has a huge statue of Bhima. Locals flock the place during Makar Sankranti to pay their obeisances. They take a dip on the holy water.
Here river Baitarani or Gupt Ganga falls as two water falls called Sanakunda and Badakunda. According to the locals, the gorges, Sanakunda abd Badakunda were created by Bhima with the help of his mace, to quench their thirst while they were in exile. Water from the earlier one was used for cooking and religious purposes and water from the later one is used for bathing.
The water falls amidst the lush green trees and mountains make it a wonderful sight. The sound of the roaring waters and the chirping of birds fills one with happiness.
The watch tower is a real blessing. It gives a spectacular view of the place.
Near the huge statue of Bhima, there is a Shiva temple, called Tirtheswara Mahadev which is an astha sambhu. From the temple, few steps lead you down to a small park, that also has a tiny temple of Lord Shiva (Bhimaswar) and Maa Ganga. Nearby there is a designated place for picnic. There is also a small statue of Maa Laxmi.
Underneath the beautiful water falls and the gorges, there is danger. The current of the water is very high, in addition to the shapeless rocks. Many accidents are reported every year, so one needs to be extra careful while going near water.
Baitarani river .
Best place for feast in winter season.
Its just charging parking fee of ₹50, viewing fee from watch tower per head is ₹10.
Available toilet with charging of ₹5 per head for both Gents and ladies.
water supply is available for Feast.
Recommended place for picnic party.
A Must visit place.
Mythologicaly its said that Bhim hit his Gada (weapon) so hard that it created a big pond/kund, the depth is believed to be reaching hell or the core of the earth, even scientists have not been able to measure its depth.
It's a big area to explore, atleast 2 hours to take pics and roam around.
There are multiple view points so you have to walk some distance to cover all the view points. People also go down (little risky) the canion to get more beutiful pics of the river cutting through the rocks.
