Manipur Memorial, Shillong

An octagonal monument of ashlars stone masonry was erected in memory of Mr. Quinton and other officers of British Military who died in Manipur in CE 1891. The monument was raised over gradually receding platforms.An inscription engraved on this mrmorial pillar briefly describes the cause of death of the military officers.
