Felt Proud to be here in Mawlynnong, ML. Very decent people and Lanes are very clean and you will easily find ppl who are cleaning the clean roads... Highly Recommended place to visit. We stayed Night here In Mawlynnong Bamboo House... Not so Expensive but It will worth a penny..

No doubt Mawlynnong is the cleanest village in Asia, but to be frank the excitement and hype we had was vanished once we reached there. The place is neat, and the villagers are doing a good work by keeping it clean and in a disciplined manner but was not upto the expectations we had initially.

It was a lovely looking village. But extremely commercialized. It doesn't honestly look like village. There are very well laid roads. It is proper tourist location. You have home stays every direction you turn. Basically all houses are home stays as well. You have small restaurants as well. Though they have vegetarian food, it's not vegetarian friendly places. No good reviews on the food. We preferred having our food on the way back in a vegetarian restaurant. There is a bamboo bridge built as view point Bangaladesh from Mawlynnong village. It's good spot for pictures that costs you Rs.20 per person. Elders can also walk through that. It's pretty study one and only 4-5 people are allowed at a time. Not worth visiting as there are other villages that gives you clean village feel. This looks more like a well maintained garden with home stays all around.

Calm , clean and Happy Village..! Definitely worth the visit especially during rainy season... Very much Warm and Friendly people .. ! The are few small outlets where you get some of the best vegetarian foods in Meghalaya ( Dinner needs prior order around 6 ) .. Home stays here are small but comfortable. Very Near to Single Living Root Bridge and NohWet view point.

Experienced it twice once with huge crowd and once with very little crowd. With huge crowd it definitely felt overrated place but when got to explore with lesser crowd found that this village actually has a vibe and is a good place!

If you are staying in this village for a night do make sure you don't book in advance and only go and book there. You'll find the same place at half the rates. Also, make sure to go on forest trail around the village it's actually beautiful and peaceful!

Also, only bad thing about this village is the food options. There are literally close to zero food options so do make sure you carry food with you with you are coming here and don't except you'll find it here.

It is undoubtedly clean and has different types of flora. What I saw is there are multiple homestays and if you stay there for a night you can enjoy the beauty of the place.
The people are very helpful and jolly but it looks more of a themed resort than a village. The villagers themselves maintain the whole place. So if you want a retreat from city life but don't want to face the hardships of staying in a village this place is for you.

Everyone talks about the cleanliness of this place but what we don't talk more often is how beautiful is this place... People of this village are proactive and are still making efforts to make their village more attractive... It's beautiful serene village one should definitely pay a visit or if you can stay there for a night or so it will be more rejuvenating.

Good place just for a stroll nothing less nothing more...
This place is like a gated community which used to be an erstwhile originally well maintained village now mostly converted into Home Stays giving out living experience in their community.

Awesomely well maintained and self sustained village. Inhabitants are friendly, they also have a market area to showcase and sell their native products.

Recommended to visit for all...it is an experience in itself and we should be proud and take away some learning from there.

The down side is visitors are charged 10/- for toilet and Tea costs 20/-
