Right from the arrival to the departure, very rarely have I stayed at any place which surprises you pleasantly with each passing moment. This one was such a one. The reception staff went out of their way to help us out, the rest of the staff were equally courteous and helpful. The rooms were huge and the views, oh my god! I could spend ages here! Food was decent with limited menu due to the remote location. There is an army camp right next to the property and you can hear/watch the drill every morning. The property closes its main gate at 6pm, so do inform them if you plan to reach late. Also dinner is served last by 8pm, but they provide casserole/hot pot to keep food warm if you plan to have it late. Breakfast menu is also very limited.
There are two options available for stay at Sendra- Deluxe rooms and cottages. The rooms are nearer to the reception as compared to the cottages which are a good distance away and on an uneven path (senior citizens and those with walking problems should not opt for the cottages). Either ways, all their accommodations offer a fabulous view of the lake. Loktak by night is also a superb sight in itself which shouldn't be missed.
The service is excellent and staff is quite helpful. Infact, they happily arranged a Manipuri Thali for us (at our request) on one of the nights we stayed there. This place is a must do for those who want to get away from the usual hustle and bustle of the cities and be one with nature.
Cottages – These are environmentally friendly cottages that provide all the necessities for a comfortable stay to ascertain a good night’s rest. Sleeping in these cottages is an adventure that is comparable to a camping experience.
Sangai Café – A multi-cuisine eating joint at this location invites you to whet your appetite. Be it an Indian or Chinese or even the local delicacies, the restaurant is at your service.
Banquet Halls – Be it a high profile meeting of dignitaries or a private celebration for individuals, the banquet halls serves all required facilities for all the important occasions for about 25 – 30 pax.
Apart from a nice picnic spot and a place to relax, a trip to the Keibul Lamjao National Park can also be arranged with prior notice to The Classic Hotel Travel Desk. It is worth exploring the countryside whilst your stay at the resort.
