People at kolapur are very kind and helpful.. Auto rikshow service is nice and offer rides at reasonable and valid rates.. food is best one can get tasty wide range of food options from non veg to jain veg... ample of places to visit at short distances.. we planned trip at kolhapur for three days and explore the city via auto and public transport (bus) it was very easy and we had a great time at kolhapur ... Pune/ Mumbai - Kolhapur bus connectivity is there .. City is not overpriced for outsiders as well... One can plan 3 days trip within 10k including stay (standard hotel) , food, and sightseeing via public transport... No advance booking is required one can get many stay options near by mahalaxmi temple or near by kolhapur bus stop as per our budget. Places covered ( temlai mata mandir, Shalini place , new palace, shivaji University, jyotiba temple, mahalaxmi temple, rankala lake, panhala fort) avoid mahalaxmi temple visit on Tuesdays- Fridays or on weekends might get high rush and avoid jyotiba visit on sundays .. or one can visit temples early morning.. !! Great city and Lovely local people..
