Pitezari gate is an eastern entry point for jungle safari at Nagzira Tiger project which is 14km from Sakholi. It is located amidst the dense natural forest.Various resorts including forest guest houses are available within the vicinity as per the budget. To spot the various wildlife it is imperative to enter the forest in a gypsy Jeep along with guide quite early in the morning. As these animals are at their liberty they can not be spotted at the particular location ,however it is totally your luck factor .But you will definitely meet group of langurs(Monkeys),Various deers, peacocks, wildboars, various birds, herds of bisons but to meet tiger is a very very rare opportunity. All the animals move in search of water & food to the nearby water sources.
The internal roads are very well maintained but there seems to be the water scarcity. The hand pumps being operated by staff at various spots are unable to garner the water.
It doesn't has good accommodations available. Few restaurants.
Home cook food in village style is available.
(If coming out from the Pitezari Gate, then left side restaurant provide home cook food and good service , Veg / Nonveg option is available)
Jungle Safari Timing
1st Morning : 6am to 10am
2nd Evening : 2Pm to 6Pm
Tent campaigning with bonfire 🔥 is also available.
Bliss!
That's the words that you can take back after a safari from NNTR and that too Pitezari gate. (Provided you are a nature / wildlife lover and know what is the essence of it rather that just a "TIGER Lover")
I've been to Pench, Tadoba, Gir but the jungle here is no match to any of those. I recommend every "Jungle" lover to visit this place, coz even if you don't see any of the big cats, the jungle is not to miss for.
