Nandi sits here, patiently waiting for Shiva. The massive bull, waiting with its tail curled up between its body and hoof while sitting, is alert and subservient. 1000 years and more, waiting...

Nandi Mandapam facing Mhadev Temple has a large monolithic statue of Nnadi. Nnadi is known to be mount of Lord Shiva and as a rule his statue is installed facing Lord Shiva.
This Nandi has been carved beautifully in sitting posture with tail tucked in. Decorations on the body are of fine craftsmanship. Nandi sits under carved circular canopy.
No separete ticket required for this temple.

The Nandi temple is a Hindu temple in Khajuraho town of Madhya Pradesh, India. It is devoted to Nandi, the bull which serves because the mount of Shiva, in Hindu mythology. As a not unusual architecture trend, temples of Shiva show stone pics of a seated Nandi going through Shiva. Following the fashion, this temple is located contrary to the Vishvanatha Temple, that's devote to Shiva. This structure is one of the monument among Khajuraho Group of Monuments, a World Heritage Site in India.
