Dam is over Betwa river Nd covering 20 km2..
Its part of Lalitpur Dis of Uttar Pradesh.. which is surrounded by Madhya pradesh from 3 side..

From Jhs to matatila, it is easy connectivity by road nd Rail.. Railway station of matatila is around 10 to 15 km from reserve.. There is a park also that is open for all without any restrictions but you can't do illigel work there nd there are some restricted areas also if you move there that'll cause great cause..

It is one of the most popular visiting place by tourist near by Jhs nd Lalitpur.. mainly people are going there during low rainy season like August - September , when the reserve is over filled with water nd almost all the chambers are open to release water..
Not safe for girls nd lovers nd unmature peoples so keep safety... also take care of ur children..

Went for the first time, good tourist attraction however lacks discipline as many were driving two wheelers and four wheelers just above the dam beyond parking area which is meant for a walk.

Good place. If you want to take cool pictures then go in evening, you can get pictures around the location. Dam is under development but i went to see for water falling from every gate of dam but most of the gates were closed. So I got only cool sunset.the reservoir will show the two sun bcz of reflection that is so cool....

Travelled there from Sagar during rainy season. The water body was huge and starts way before reaching the dam. There's good forest in the nearby area. We went a bit ahead and managed to see a pair of Sarus cranes (the biggest flying bird; rare). There's a park as well, which would be a good addition if you're travelling with family.

The Matatila Dam is a dam in district Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, that was built in 1958 on the Betwa River. Situated 93 km away from Deogarh, this earthen dam is 35 m high. The catchment area is around 20 km2 with a maximum storage capacity of 1132 million cubic metres.
