It's under construction right now. Very popular and near to annuppur. And , it is completely meticulously hand craved. It's a Buddha temple. A very huge statue of Buddha is there which is still there from the old version of the same temple.

This group of ancient temples is adjacent to Narmada Kund at Amarkantak. It is open from 6 am to 6 pm. The entry fee is Rs. 25 and one needs to show identity proof to enter. All the temples are ruined to some extent. A huge ancient Kund adorns the place.

The description of each temple is found in front of the respective temples. The most famous among them is Pataleswar Mahadev. It is said that during the month of Shravan, on any one Monday, the Shivling gets submerged in water. According to the local people, Maa Narmada who is the daughter of lord Shiva comes to pay her obeisance. It is very strange that all round the year, even if during heavy rainfall, no water reaches the linga.

One of the temples is called Johila temple and a broken idol of the deity is found there. It is one of its kind. The temples speak volume of the artistic qualities of our ancient craftsman.

It is well maintained, although the sanctum sanctorium are closed. One can peep and get a look of the dieties. The Karna or Karan temple stands tall on the rear end. From the place one can see the town filled with temples. Drinking water facility is available and there are lots of benches where one can sit and enjoy the beauty.

Overall and average place for spending excess time in Amarkantak. All temples inside are locked. But you can really enjoy the beauty of the place surrounding a lush green landscape and trees.
Taking a professional photographer or camera is not allowed. Visit here during evening or in early morning for best experience. Information on milestones are very peculiar thing.

This place can be undoubtedly described as a "historical garden" due to the number of ancient temples standing tall in a beautifully maintained, green garden. In my opinion, this place was a better visit than the actual temple where people go to pray to Goddess Narmada (Narmadakund).

The primary structures of the garden were designed and commissioned during the reign of King Karna or Lakshmikarna of the Kalachuri Dynasty of Tripuri in Central India. Avid readers of Sharadindu might recognize him from the story 'Tumi Sandharo Megh' where he tenaciously wants to bring an end to the Great Pala rule of Eastern India while his younger daughter, Princess Yuvanashree falls in love with a Pala prince. After visiting the place, I felt much connected to this part of history which made me feel really happy!

Additionally, this place has a legit wheelchair facility and booking a ticket here only requires you to scan and pay.

These Ancient temples are well protected and neatly maintained. One great observation is the natural air conditioning once you enter inside a temple. No matter how hot it is outside, you dont need anything else
