Samudri Tapu is the source of one of the main steams of the Chandra River. The first glance of the place is magical and mystifying. The only way to reach this place is through trekking. The place has much to offer. A vast water body guarded by terminal moraines of the glacier and strange vegetation. This is one of the least visited places in India. So travellers should take caution.

Samudari Tapu, situated near Chandra Taal at an altitude of 4300 mtrs (14.10761ft). It is the least explored place. There are two routes to reach here, One involves crossing Chandra river via a steel rope way (1 Day), other easier but longer route (2,3 days) is by walking from Chandra Taal to trek along the Chandra River. The terrain is rocky and unstable and also has some streams and ridges. You will only find a few Gaddi shepherds there.
