Kos Minar

Kos Minar no. 11 at village Mawai, Faridabad, Haryana is in excellent condition. These kos minars were used to mark the distance on the roads from Vedic period onwards until Mughal times. Sher Shah Suri introdrced pakka minars whereas previously the distances were mareked by kachcha earthen pillars , trees and wells. Must visit if you happen to be in Faridabad. It is apprachabe from Delhi via rail and road.

It's located at sector 29. Just opposite to Sector 28 transformer office. Very well maintained, enclosed in a park. 1.5 km from Sector 28 Metro station. Very near to Sector 29 HUDA Market. Surrounded by plush green areas

Kos minar is a minar of Mughal Era which use for measuring Distance and exchange the horses during their travels from Delhi to Agra. There is no ticket to visit this. This is a road side minar,.

Best place to hang out with friends

This Kos Minar is very properly preserved and maintained inside a fenced enclosure that itself is inside a park. There was a lock put by the Pujari of the temple which is also inside the park. The color and texture of the surface are in very nice condition.
