I'm a hobby fashion designer who loves texting and different kinds of fabric. This museum is a treasure of fabric where we can see all kinds of block prints embroidery and pure gold threads viewing pure silk fabrics. They kept so may old raja maharajas cloth which they preserved.

Main thing is if u want to visit the place you shd book previously in website or u shd send a mail, mail ID provided in website, other wise they will not allow inside. It's like a fabric tour. You should reach before 10.30Am, after that not allowed. A guied will take u to a tour by explaining all kinds of fabric embroidery and the time in which they used.

The museum is amazing and worth to visit. Being a student of fashion or textile design one should definitely visit there and see the exquisite collection of ancient textiles and garments they have tried maintain over the years. I would personally prefer that book the visit early like before one or two weeks. Because it takes time to get confirmation mail in return and one more thing, Go to the museum only if you have got confirmation mail otherwise they'll not all

This is a wonderful museum with amazing collection of paintings on material, embroidery , carvings and bronzes . The gardens look amazing although you do not seem to be allowed around them.
It is sadly let down by the guide who is very strict and officious and not engaging. She clearly knows her stuff but doesn’t seem to have the skills to share this with the visitors in a helpful way. One of our group had visited 2 years ago and had the same experience with the same guide. It would really help the museum to get someone else guiding who is better able to explain the wonderful treasures it holds.

Total time waster, not welcoming for foreign or national guest from other part of India. If you want to know about bureaucracy in Tourism, please visit this place. If you cannot accommodate tourists please make it a government office.

A painstaking effort and an excellent collection to narrate the history and highlight our culture through the years. The Haveli which houses the museum is a heritage building. There are cloth paintings and costumes too. The temple recreated with the restored pieces from an old temple that was being demolished also showcases skills our artisans. There are tents, carpets and furnishings on display. It's a must see for everyone.

However, you need to plan 5 weeks before and apply for visitors pass on line. The moment you apply, you will receive an acknowledgement. But that is not a valid permission. Please make sure you receive a confirmation email that you are permitted to visit. Please call up and get the confirmation if need be. Otherwise you won't be allowed. Also make sure to be at the gate minimum 15 minutes before that is by 10.15 AM. Getting the permission seems to be the most difficult part of the visit.

The place is just too beautiful! The building, the landscape, too good. Very large in area and so much to explore. Also, there are peacocks inside the museum area.

Free roam inside the museum was not allowed, it was a guided tour. So, this is the only small flaw here.
