White Desert Of Kutch

The well-known and famous white desert of Kutch. The white color is due to the dried salt there. All you will see is the white desert till the horizon. It was a very new and wonderful experience. When we went there was a lot of mud along with salt due to humidity and water in soil. Because of this, even walking there was very difficult. If you go after the soil is completely dry, you may have a different experience. There was a lot of new development for tourist is going on. parking and other facilities were also good. You can enjoy Other fun and sports activity in desert.

You can do some fun things like paragliding and hot balloon fly.

Great experience. The view is really unforgettable. Though it's a bit far from any tent but still the experience of going there through camel cart and bus is great. You can actually see the salt crystals. The farther you go, the more white the field looks. But dont go too far. You might end up in another country.

I have to start with saying I had high expectations with all the marketing for Rann Utsav done by Gujarat tourism but it didn’t keep up with the hype. I planned to also see it during full moon so it was even bigger bummer. For the management team - when there are tens and thousands people planning to visit White Rann basic need of toilets and water should setup else as it’s happening people will start using white rann as place to relieve themselves. Setup some information booths if there are any programs planned as there were music and slide show in the evening but no one was aware what’s going on.
On a positive side kids and family enjoyed the white salt flats. I hope salt flats are there in future that are clean for next gen to appreciate.

Visit this place at sunset and you will experience great scenic views.
There are some small food vendors at the place. Camel and Auto rides available at the desert. One must have the permit for visiting this place. Issue of Permit is available online and offline as well.

This was the best part of my kutch trip. Glad I could see this beautiful place. It's all white like snow, it's beautiful to see the white land meeting the blue sky. Do watch sunrise or sunset. You need a permit before entering, it can be taken online or offline. Preferably they say take online. There are camel rides, hot air balloon and helicopter ride as well, but not sure about the details or fare. It would be nice if you book a homestay near the desert if you wish to see sunrise, and it will save your time. Also, don't wear chappal or bellies. Wear something covered preferably shoes because the black sea bed before the salt is very gooey somewhat like grease. I bet you can have a great time star-gazing in and around this place

Mesmerizing experience
What I really liked about the pace was that there was less of commercial activity. Although it’s a border area not much of restriction as in where one could go. You are free to walk on the white desert till wherever u can.

White desert is a one day full trip. You can go to Rann Utosav nearby. White desert is very beautiful and it's a different experience. They have some kinds of shows in the evening. Also on a full moon day and very next day, they kept it open at night also. There are lots of nearby adventures available but unfortunately there is guidance nearby. The toilet's facility was okay.
