Good and unique historical site, combination of brick and stone work never saw like this pattern. Interesting place for history lovers, close to National Highway and quite accessible from Raipur. This monument is situated at village Dhobni 2 kms inside of Raipur Bilaspur highway and 2 kms from village Damakheda, a famous seat of Kabir Panthi Gurus. This temple was built on the raised platform near the tank. It seems that originally this temple was a Shiva temple but in later Medieval period the sanctum was repaired and the lingum was painted with Sindura and was worshipped as Chitavari-Devi. This is a fine star shaped or Tarakriti (ताराकृति) temple belonging to circa 8th-9th cent. A.D. source cgculture.in

(Translated by Google) Chitavari Devi Temple, located 57 km away from Raipur city on Raipur-Bilaspur road in Raipur district of Chhattisgarh state, 2 km away from the famous place Damakheda (where Kabir Panthi gurus' seat is established) in village Dhobani. The banks are made of stone and brick. Built on a high platform, this temple was originally a Shiva temple, the sanctum sanctorum of which was renovated in the later medieval period. The disfigured idol kept in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple is worshiped as Chitavari Devi. This is a beautiful example of brick-built star-shaped temples, built in the 8th-9th centuries AD. This monument is protected by the State of Chhattisgarh

Unless you are a history or an adventure buff you can skip this. It is an ancient temple with an interesting history, however the gate for the deity is opened only in morning or evening around 5 or you request for the priest who can open it. The deity has some interesting history. It is located near a pond. This place is in a village off the main highway.
