Kudos to Sunny. We were amazed by his knowledge and passion and what a dream he has created. A must see for anybody who loves music and history. The collections of Gramophones and discs are just unbelievable. Would suggest folks who want to visit to fix up a time with Sunny before reaching the place as what is put for display is his personal collection with care and not a commercial venture.

A big thanks to sunny for accommodating us at the last minute.

Discs and machines is a unique example of private museum of gramophone records and machines in Kerala near Kottayam in India. This statue is in the courtyard of the museum. Sculptor and owner of the museum Mr. Sunny Mathew made it several years ago - visualizing a nymph meeting traditional Kerala woman on the rock near a pond. Both dressed in white, are exchanging moments of sorrow and happiness of their lives

Sunny’s Gramophone Museum🏯 and Records Archive, a remarkable collection of vintage records housed in a double-storeyed, air-conditioned building with an atrium. It was opened on January 25,2015. It is a treasure trove with more than a ✌lakh gramophone discs, of which around 75% are 78 rpm shellac records, cylinder records and wire records; there are also more than 260 gramophones. If you have a passion for knowledge in music and history, this is the right place for you🙌...

This museum cum archive of gramaphones and records is the first in this category in India. It has a wide collection of rare music records which are more than 150 years old which clearly explain the origin and growth of the music industry. The museum attracts many foreign institutions. The museum is run by Sunny Mathew purely on his own fund and entry is with prior appointment only.
Video is coming soon in my YouTube channel Life Travel Vlogs.

One of the very best places for music lovers interested in the history of how music evolved.
Incredible collection of Vintage gramophones from 19th century onwards. Mr.Sunny, owner of the museum has very painstakingly collected these priceless gems from all over India and abroad...The collection includes more than one lakh records, including rubber, vinyl and shellac records. He is also the proud owner of the very first recording done in India on a record. Besides this there is a good collection of old musical instruments and very old telephones. Mr.Sunny has an in-depth knowledge of all the equipment in the museum and he explained everything in great detail.
Museum is situated in a very green surroundings, slightly away from the main road. If you visit Kerala it is a must visit. You can google 'Discs and Machines, Sunny's Gramophone Museum and find the location easily.
