It is a small taxi stand near the bridge over the canal, publicly known as P. Mazumder bridge. Usually one or two taxis wait here, but most of the times you will find that no taxis waiting here. You can take a chance, but if you don't get one, you can take a rickshaw from the nearby rickshaw stand and go to the Acropolis Mall (or Kasba New Market), there most of the times you will get taxi either waiting nearby or on the main road, or near the Mall.
