As a taxi stand, there is always atleast 3 or 4 vehicles available for immediate service. Unlike Hire based on meter and cost per km being decided by government, these taxis come under tourist vehicle and personal use with driver lisences. Hence one is required to pay for the entire round trip, even if you took it for a airport drop.
Cost varies with size and age of vehicles from 12 in small car upto 22 on top end Toyota vans
The cars are mostly owned by the driver himself and are kept un immaculate condition.
Personal experience There are few really nice men among the taxis parked at chathannoor. Especially Salim with a xylo and Anil with Innova. I m mentioning them by name as they are far more helpful and accomodating. My mother traveling on of those 2 means, she will be taken care off like a mother. Helped to get in and out, even get groceries or fruits and never overcharge.
Similarly, the punctuality is amazing. Request f9r a pickup at 5 and pricise 4.55, the car will come.
Interestingly, apart from driving, they help my mother by finding the right person to take care of odd jobs like getting a plumber or even gst the battery guys come in to jumpstart the unused personal car at home
