go for pre paid auto. dont listen to the private cab driver, they were tring to fool us by saying wrong price

They have prepaid auto service in front of railway station. Give them one rupee, tell them the place name where you want to go and they will give you a bill, mentioning the amount to be paid. Lots of auto rickshaw and taxis are there. But the station looks very old. Cloak room sometimes remains unattended. Even information centre closed at 10:30 PM where it was difficult to know train status. Only station master had to be approached for everything. Station needs lots of improvements.

Nothing worth mention about the illmaintained place, except a fact that foreign &Indian guests are need to alert about tricks played by the locals & auto rickshaw drivers. The Alleppey back water (govt) boats are available at Allapuzha boat jetty [near YMCA xing] for an up-down trip of around 2 hours for ₹80 per person[on top deck] or ₹30[lower deck] from 0830 hrs at regular intervals. But local your operetars will propose you a luxurious trip by private players for around ₹ 2500 to 6000. Local buses frequently play for jetty [YMCA junc]from Allapuzha rail 🚉 @ ₹ 8.

i say it is just a local taxi stand.. there are some tourists which are mainly focused by the taxi drivers, alighting from the locomotive..
the taxi stand and an auto stand, private bus stand and public parking are all allocated in the same compound.. being a less crowded place, it is ok and excllent to access whichever appropriare for you..

It is prepaid auto taxi counter.you can reach your destination by giving a small amount in advance at the prepaid counter maintained by Traffic police

The destination are limited. You are at the mercy of the auto driver. Had bad experience with the Auto driver who charged 30inr over 100 inr indicated by the prepaid counter.
