Earlier it was also having a milling machine unit for the locally produced rice. For last few years it has been a depot for the local farmers produce and has been in the service for last 3 decades. The adjoining railway slide unit set up in last few years has been a hub for transportation of locally produced rice and helping the country in preserving food for the nation. The unit is functional through out the year.

This is a storage godown facility owned by Food Corporation of India, central Govt agency having 24000 MT capacity and its own department workers. It mostly procures the par boiled Rice for central pool from Miller's of Subarnapur district of Odisha.
